Our approach to healing is rooted in science, using naturopathy and homeopathy to achieve optimal results.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathic doctors are trained to treat all medical conditions and can provide both individual and family health care. Among the most common ailments they treat are allergies, chronic pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, obesity, respiratory conditions, heart disease, fertility problems, menopause, adrenal fatigue, cancer, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Naturopathic doctors can perform minor surgeries, such as removing cysts or stitching up superficial wounds. However, they do not practice major surgery. They are trained to use prescription drugs, although they emphasize less toxic substances that promote natural healing first, following the Therapeutic Order provides the greatest benefit with the least potential for damage.
Naturopathic doctors can order all blood reference ranges and diagnostic imaging tests. They can also order individualized specialty functional medicine labs, such as:
- assessing digestive impairment
- hormone imbalances
- heavy metal and/or environmental toxin exposure
- nutritional deficiencies
- adrenal dysregulation
They will evaluate your lab results in combination with your clinical presentation, your health history, and lifestyle and environmental factors that might be preventing you from having optimal health.
What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy, or homeopathic medicine, is a medical philosophy and practice based on the idea that the body has the ability to heal itself. Homeopathy was founded in the late 1700s in Germany and has been widely practiced throughout Europe. Homeopathic medicine views symptoms of illness as normal responses of the body as it attempts to regain health.
In naturopathic medical school training, homeopathy is one of the modalities studied. Just as NDs are also taught herbal medicine, nutrition, etc, we are educated in the use of homeopathy as a tool in treating patients.

Licensed and Accredited
Licensed naturopathic doctors combine knowledge of the body’s natural healing properties with the rigors of modern science to focus on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. By using protocols that minimize the risk of harm, naturopathic physicians help facilitate the body’s inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health.
When seeking medical care from a naturopathic doctor, it is important to select a doctor who has a naturopathic medical degree earned from an accredited, four-year, in-residence, naturopathic medical college and is licensed or certified.
We Use Functional Medicine
If you have a range of chronic, daily symptoms that conventional medicine has failed to alleviate or been to specialist after specialist and they are constantly referring you to other doctors after telling you your diagnostic test results are normal or If you’re tired of not having the answers, then functional medicine is for you!
At Cherry Blossom Natural Wellness, we meet patients every day that have multiple medical practitioners treating different body systems, often without communicating with one another. Yet still, these patients are suffering from those chronic ailments. The human body must be treated as a whole to achieve balance, rather than being seen as a set of different, unrelated parts. That’s where functional medicine comes in.

At Cherry Blossom Natural Wellness, we use functional medicine in combination with our other treatment modalities to restore mind-body health.
We find those underlying root causes to your symptoms and establish the relationships and patterns between them. Also, we focus on you as a whole being, and not just seeing you as a sum of your parts. Moreover, we put in the time to get to know you, and look at the interactions between you and your environment, your lifestyle and dietary choices, your genetics, and work to discover the synergy between your body systems.
We consider all of these multiple influences and take the time to look deeper. Doing so is important because it is not just physical factors that cause imbalance – environmental triggers, spiritual, psychological, and social elements play a large part in chronic conditions. Assessing and understanding how all of these components relate and impact your fundamental key body processes reveals the causal dysfunction.

Cleansing & Detoxification
Cleansing is an important part of maintaining health, slowing the aging process, and preventing diseases, by allowing the body to rid itself of a build-up of toxins. There are many ways of doing this. Ideally, a person should be free of commitments during a cleanse, as much as is possible, because a relaxed person can detoxify more efficiently. Another note of caution, to not ever make yourself “fit” into a cleanse. The cleanse should “fit” you. Take time to experiment to see what regime will best suit your schedule, but also remember that you will need to make room for it no matter how busy you are.
A cleanse can be fast, but it doesn’t have to be. You can eat while cleansing, provided that you use cleansing foods. If you want a specific food list for cleansing, check into any cleansing book and they will list the foods specifically. Generally, it is avoiding heavy foods like red meat, wheat, dairy, fried foods, Soya products, dried fruit, etc. You would eat fresh fruits, fresh veggies, whole grains with the exception of wheat, some chicken or fish, etc. (Some veggies contraindicated when cleansing are tomatoes, potatoes, and the squash family. Dried fruit is usually a no-no too.) Any condiments you use would be very simple like flax oil, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, etc.
The idea is to eat easily digestible foods so as to “free-up” the eliminative organs such as the liver, kidney, skin, lungs, colon, and lymphatic system so that they can spend more time detoxifying and less time digesting. (Some of these organs aren’t directly digesting food, but do help in the processing part of digestion). A juicer is also recommended, though a basic cleanse can be done without this.

Botanical & Herbal Medicine
Dr. Mack has dedicated her life to understanding all-natural botanical medicines, their healing properties, and their synergistic effects with other natural medicines. She frequently uses botanical medicine for a multitude of issues. It may be to address lingering symptoms, support a disease process, or help in maintaining an overall healthy life and body. Dr. Mackuses many European and Native American herbs to utilize all their synergistic and healing properties. She also uses many different mediums to ingest these botanical medicines, such as teas, pills, topical pastes and salves, elixirs, and extracts.
Benefits of Botanical Medicine
Dr. Mack tells all her patients that the benefits of botanical medicine will vary from mild to powerful, depending on the type of medicine and the issue we treat. You should not expect naturopathic herbal remedies to be as quick as pharmaceuticals in treating symptoms. Some botanical medicines are known to treat acute symptoms in the short term, and others are used in a long-term regimen to bring balance and harmony to the body steadily. However, herbal remedies tend to have fewer side effects than pharmaceuticals. The main benefits to these are that they are much safer than traditional western medicines and much more cost-effective.
